I often get asked – “ I know someone who needs help planning their wedding – how can they get in touch?” And the answer is pretty simple: email, call, message or DM me. However, I know that a lot of people can be intimidated about contacting a planner, and a lot of couples sometimes feel overwhelmed with the prospect of having to plan their nuptials.
It’s as if it’s the comedown to the engagement high. Well, it doesn’t have to be! I’m going to dissect for you what it’s like working with a top wedding planner like myself.
Initial Contact
There is no one way that our clients get in touch with us. It could be via our website, our Instagram, email, Google, Word of Mouth or even an introduction at an event. Regardless of how we initially meet or speak, we will send you a questionnaire to fill out that answers some of the most important queries that we will have at this very initial stage:
- Do you have a date? If so, which one? Is it several days?
- Do you have a venue? If so, which one? Is it across several venues?
- Number of guests?
- What is your budget?
- What are the three things that are forbidden at your wedding?
- How did you both meet?
It is very important, that before we even plan an initial call with you, we understand who you are, if we are available, and if our fees will fit into your budget. Any high quality wedding planner should be asking you these basic questions.
On-Boarding
We plan our call (video or phone), you get to ask me any questions you might have, we discuss in depth your vision, any mood boards you might have, your budget and my fees.
Generally, after the call we agree to reconvene a week later, even by email so that you and your partner have time to digest the information shared, and make a decision on moving forward with working with myself and my number 1 wedding planner team.
Once you have made the decision, contracts are exchanged, the initial deposit fee is paid, and we can start working together on the biggest day of your life – let’s create those memories!
Top Wedding Planning
Depending on the size of your wedding and how much time we have to plan it, we may already pencil in regular meetings to touch base. We will also be setting up a WhatsApp group with anyone that will be a decision maker in order to have as many fluid canals of communication available.
We will present you with an initial mood board which, once approved by you will be what sets the tone moving forward and will be the base with which we communicate to all suppliers.
Being an award-winning top wedding planner, one of my strengths is bringing your vision, which I have already translated into the mood board, to life. A large part of this is sourcing the right venue/s, and all of the suppliers that will make your day or weekend unforgettable and unique.
Being the best wedding planner I can be to my clients, I pride myself on thinking of everything before the actual wedding day: the schedules, the friends and family directory (I ask you to share with me all of your closest circles’ photos and their names so that all suppliers may know who to photograph, and take care of especially), the payment schedules and budget management, basically EVERYTHING!
The Wedding
On the day, you really do not want to be worrying yourself with the big issues that may arise and with the minute details that will arise. I take care of everything for you, from the change of weather to the plug socket that doesn’t work and everything in between.
As high quality wedding planners, the team at La Fête make sure that the day runs smoothly, you both get to enjoy this day that you have poured your hearts and souls into since we met, and that we coordinate every detail to create a day that was even better than what you had in mind.
We of course manage the schedule, the movement of your guests from one place to another, but mainly we are there for you to lean on, and make sure that all of the suppliers perform to 110% of their abilities.
Post-Wedding
As a top wedding planner, our job doesn’t just end once you’ve partied the night away. We pride ourselves on seeing everything through to the last detail. We make sure that any deliverables that were agreed, such as photos and videos, are delivered to you, on time and as per your contract. We also deal with all general post-wedding admin, etc.
