Straddling the Bosphorus, Istanbul is not just a fascinating city geographically, but culturally, and historically immensely rich. Turkey is one of the (few!) countries on the European continent I had yet to visit, so needless to say that I was jumping for joy when I won this weekend away during a charity auction.
Often, rustic dinner parties are spring, summer or autumn-themed, seldom winter. But because we at La Fete HQ love to buck the trend, we’ve put together our top tips for throwing a rustic winter dinner (and no, it’s not Christmassy!).
My goal with this shoot was to create a fairy tale winter wedding inspiration, without it being a Christmas cliché. In order to do this, I listed all the seasonal elements that I love and incorporated them on top of a neutral palette of creams, light pinks and greys: these colour choices ensured that the festive reds and greens stood out against the lighter background.
I may have only spent two days in the Austrian capital, but it was enough to be swept away by its magic. This winter, myself, my husband and my colleague/sister were graciously invited by Palais Hansen Kempinski to experience their incredible facilities and explore the city, and both exceeded our expectations.
