In the heart of Tuscany, we had the honour of planning Justine and Stefan’s wedding; a beautiful Tuscany wedding that epitomised romance, elegance, and the enchanting allure of the Italian countryside. Their wedding took place in September, a month when the local landscapes are awash with warm hues, and the weather is perfect for an outdoor celebration.
The chosen venue, La Foce, was a historic estate that dates back centuries, offering a blend of rich history and natural beauty. The estate’s gardens, renowned for their meticulous design and lush greenery, provided an idyllic setting for the Italian wedding. Nestled among rolling hills and sprawling vineyards, the location offered stunning views that left guests in awe.
Setting the Scene
The ceremony took place in the estate’s garden, surrounded by the blooming flowers and ancient trees. A classic stone bench and statue adorned with cascading floral arrangements served as the altar. The flowers, a mix of white roses, peonies, and greenery, complemented the natural beauty of the setting, creating a serene and romantic atmosphere.
Guests were seated on elegant wooden chairs arranged in a semi-circle, ensuring everyone had a perfect view of Justine and Stefan as they exchanged vows. Soft music from a string quartet added to the ambience, making the moment even more magical.
The Reception
Following the ceremony, the celebration moved to an open-air courtyard within the estate. Long banquet tables were set in an X shape under hanging chandeliers, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere as the sunset. The tables were adorned with sophisticated monochromatic black and white flowers and candles, reflecting the essence of Tuscany’s countryside charm.
The menu for this stunning Italian wedding was a culinary journey through Italy, featuring locally sourced ingredients and traditional dishes. Each dish was paired with exquisite local wines, enhancing the dining experience and showcasing the region’s rich viticultural heritage.
Personal Touches
Every detail of the wedding was carefully curated to reflect Justine and Stefan’s personal style and preferences. Personalized touches included the ice lollies that were served inside the champagne flutes, making for a delicious and cooling drink.
Or the “hora loca” details which were all again monochromatic and themed around Italy and a great party!
And then there were the sprigs of rosemary which were handed to all the guests – an exquisite detail reflecting Stefan’s Serbian heritage; this tradition makes every guest feel like they are a part of one big wedding party together, as rosemary is specifically used for its fragrance, but it is also a symbol of fertility for the couple.
One of the highlights was Justine and Stefan’s first dance, which took place in the Limonaia. This then became the stage for a magnificent champagne tower and an insane party that lasted well into the night!
And it was all made that extra bit special with the fact that Justine’s cousin from Florence was one of the musicians.
